Hamsa Cross

Regular price $58.00

This Hamsa Cross necklace is made out of an etched Honduran coin, with the country’s coat of arms on the reverse side.

The Hamsa is a protective amulet that has been present in the Middle East and North Africa for hundreds of years. Commonly used in jewelry and wall hangings, this symbol predates Islam, but eventually became part of the Muslim tradition, and spread into Judaism, and Christianity. Referred to as the Hand of Fatima, the Hand of Miriam, or the Hand of Mary, this hand pushes away negative energy, and is a powerful symbol for protection, particularly against the evil eye. The Hamsa is often seen as a protector for women, and is sometimes called the woman’s holy hand.
